Whitewater High School Students Learn About Construction Industry Opportunities

WHITEWATER, WI — Whitewater High School students learned about the opportunities available to them in the construction industry during the JP Cullen Construction Career Fair held on October 5.

Students participated in interactive opportunities, including mock-ups and hands-on demonstrations. They were also able to speak with apprenticeship recruiters from a variety of trades, including construction, manufacturing, and welding.

“The construction industry continues to provide a variety of well-paying jobs and career paths, and we are thrilled that our students have access to outstanding opportunities like the JP Cullen Construction Career Fair,” said Dr. Caroline Pate-Hefty, Superintendent of the Whitewater Unified School District. “Our aim is to empower the next generation with knowledge and choices, ensuring they can make informed decisions about their future. Their next trip will be Monday, November 13th to attend the Operating Engineers Local 139 Fall Externship Day in Coloma, Wisconsin.”

The fair is held annually to educate students on career opportunities in the construction industry and address the workforce shortage.

Students who are interested in exploring a youth apprenticeship or apprenticeship can apply online at https://jpcullen.com/jobs/tradesperson/.
