Whitewater High School Teacher Honored with Wisconsin Most Valuable Educator Award
WHITEWATER, WI — A Whitewater High School teacher has been named Wisconsin’s Most Valuable Educator by TDS Telecommunications LLC.
Laura Masbruch received the award during a surprise presentation at a school assembly on Wednesday, October 23. In addition to the recognition, she was awarded a Green Bay Packers prize package, which includes two tickets to the January 5 game against the Chicago Bears and an opportunity to bring a group of students to Lambeau Field for a stadium tour and a meet-and-greet with a Packers alumnus.
This award recognizes educators who significantly impact students and the community.
“We are incredibly proud of Laura and the positive impact she has made in the lives of our students and throughout our school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Caroline Pate-Hefty. “Her commitment to innovation in the classroom and her dedication to supporting all students, particularly through her work with the robotics team and bilingual learners, exemplifies the excellence we strive for throughout our district. This award is a well-deserved recognition of her passion for education and the difference she makes every day.”
Masbruch was selected from over 40 nominees across the state. TDS Associate Manager of Field Marketing Anna Jensen presented the award at Wednesday’s assembly.
Masbruch, who has taught in the Whitewater Unified School District since 1993, specializes in computer science, math, and robotics. Her nomination highlighted her innovative teaching strategies, particularly her dedication to supporting bilingual students and her significant contributions to the WHS robotics team, Ferradermis 6574. The team qualified for the national championships in Houston earlier this year.
