Whitewater Student Makayla Bazeley to Compete at World Water Ski Championships
WHITEWATER, WI — Whitewater High School student Makayla Bazeley is headed to the 2025 IWWF World Water Ski Show Championships in Australia later this month.
A member of the Twin Lakes Aquanuts, she advanced to the world competition with her partner, Zeke Tiedt after placing second in the Indmar D1 Show Ski Nationals in Indiana last summer.
The world championships, set to take place in Mulwala, Australia March 21-23, will bring together top athletes from around the globe.
“We are incredibly proud of Makayla and her incredible accomplishments,” said Superintendent Dr. Caroline Pate-Hefty. “Her dedication to the sport and her commitment to excellence make her a fantastic representative of our school community and country. We wish her the best of luck at the world championships as she travels to Australia to compete.”
At the event, Bazeley will showcase her skills alongside competitors from Australia, Belgium, and Canada.
Along with her water skiing skills, Bazeley is an accomplished swimmer. Last November, she capped off her high school swim career at the WIAA State Meet, earning two medals.
