The second cohort of WHS students began their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program on November 4th. WHS is the 9th area high school that has opened a Nursing Assistant Lab in partnership with Gateway Technical College. A special thank you goes to Fairhaven Senior Services for their partnership and dedication in helping make this lab a reality!
In addition, Whitewater High School has partnered with Gateway Technical College’s Transcripted Credit program to keep college affordable and build upon every student’s academic and career plan. Transcripted Credit allows high school students to earn both high school and Gateway credit at the same time. Gateway’s courses are taught by our high school faculty using the same materials and curriculum students would find at the Gateway campuses. Whitewater High School teachers work with Gateway faculty members to ensure our students are meeting the same competencies and achieving the same academic success as the adult students on campus. WHS students are given the option to register for the Gateway credit. Whitewater High School had 443 student enrollments in Transcripted Credit courses earning Gateway credit and saving our students a total of $206,115.22 during the 2023-2024 school year! This is an all-time school record!
