Whitewater Unified School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 due to a Winter Storm Warning that is tracking heavy snow that will impact travel during school hours. This is a friendly reminder that the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will open on Sunday, December 31st regardless of what college you plan on attending. In order to prepare for that, you can start creating your FSA IDs (FAFSA login). You'll need the following information: *Full legal name *Social Security Number *Personal email address (do not use a high school email or an email that is shared with a parent/guardian -- parent/guardian will need to create their own FSA ID as part of the FAFSA process) *Contact information (your own cell phone number) *Address Please work on this BEFORE December 31st as you will not be able to submit your FAFSA the same day you create your FAFSA login. During the first portion of the school year, the WHS Choirs have been singing about and thinking about the idea of community. We are thinking about the community that is our choir, our school, our city, our state, our nation, and our world. The songs featured at our Fall Concert are songs we sing as a community or are about the communities in which we live. A part of living in a community is helping others. In order to do that, the WHS Choirs will be holding a Community Baby Shower. Donations of diapers and wipes will be accepted between now and next Wednesday, October 18th. All donations will be given to The Community Space in Whitewater. Students, WUSD staff, and community members can drop off donations at the WHS Choir room or the WHS main office. We will continue the collection at our Fall Concert on Wednesday, October 18th when we will have boxes ready for donations at the concert. The concert will be held at Whitewater High School in the auditorium at 7:00 pm. Thank you in advance for any support you can give to this project. We truly live in a special place!

AP Exam Registration for 2023-24 School Year Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit, saving a significant amount on tuition. Evidence also shows that simply taking an AP exam has benefits for students. For the 2023-24 school year, students will register for AP exams directly through Whitewater High School and College Board. This year each AP exam costs $98. Whitewater High School recognizes the value in students taking AP exams and this year, is offering a $20 discount for any student taking more than one exam. The online exam registration window will open on Monday, September 18 and close on October 20, at 11:59 p.m. In order to register, students will complete a Google form indicating which AP exams they intend to take. The fee for the exam will then be added to a student’s Infinite Campus account. A minimum payment of $40 per exam is due no later than November 10, 2023 in order for exams to be ordered. The remaining balance for all exams must be paid no later than January 19, 2024. Payments can be made directly to Whitewater High School through check or credit card online through IC. For students who qualify for financial assistance, the corresponding exam fee will be adjusted prior to being uploaded to IC. All registrations that do not have at least the $40 ordering fee per exam will be canceled and exams will not be ordered. Friday, January 19 ALL payments must be completed. *Once online registration closes, exams will be ordered. The order window for exams closes on November 10, therefore registering for exams after the deadline will incur a $40 fee. *Any exam canceled between November 14, 2023 and March 1, 2024 will incur a $40 cancellation fee. Join the FFA Alumni for their annual cookout on Friday night before the football game! They'll be serving pork loin sandwiches and hot dogs, with chips, a cookie, and a drink from 5:00 - 7:00 in the area outside the FFA Greenhouse across from the football field.

Reminder: The WHS Parent University Event is TONIGHT from 4:00-7:30pm at the High School. We hope to see you there!
